Don’t think Illa-Warra if ya Can-Berra?

Keep the water on the Left means we are currently travelling South.

Catching up with some family relatives on the way meant we went via Corrimal in the Illawarra region for a stopover at Corrimal Beach Tourist Park & a catch-up cuppa with Jayne’s cousin Sally-Anne. It’s a good looking piece of coastline down this way around Bellambi, Thirroul, Bulli, Woonona, Austinmer.

Towradgi Rock Pool

A noice wallowing pool & few good surfing breaks were noted for future reference (as a dicky shoulder is currently keeping me out of the waves).

Another stopover in Canberra to catch up with our nephew Charles where we had an excellent dining experience at Au Lac Vegan Cuisine, in Dickson.

As an Asian style restaurant, it had all the usual items on the menu, roast duck in plum sauce, spicy lemongrass fish, beef rendang, but they were all veggie/vegan based. We had duck and fish based dishes that were excellent. They were obviously not duck or fish but the presentation, flavour and texture of the dishes were brilliant. We usually avoid pretend meat food & were a bit sceptical but were pleasantly surprised by the craft of the vegan kitchen. Even the fried rice had little bits of what looked like ham but was actually spiced tofu.

Further South put us in Jugiong where we caught up with our friend Rosemary. From there our convoy headed to Bright, VIC, for a couple of days. Bright is a very picturesque little village with a very enthusiastic cycling community.

This trip is the first time we have added our e-bikes to the mix & Bright was the perfect environment to get back on our bikes. Rosemary is what you’d call a mad cyclist & just a bit fitter than us, so we were very happy that we had e-bikes to help us keep up with her.

Later that day I found the button that turns off high beam.

And! Someone is retiring! Jayne flew back to Newy for her last lot of board meetings with the NGM (Greater Bank/Newcastle Perm) group.

Upon her return she was in a much better frame of mind to adapt to the nomadic way of life we are slipping into.

Next up is Barwon Heads, then onward to Apollo Bay & a new year.
