Last Rock of the Cradle

It was our last day on the mountain today.

About 2.5-3 hours of relatively easy wandering about from Ronny Creek to Crater Lake (for lunch and a cup of tea) via Wombat Pool and then back to Dove Lake for afternoon tea by the lake near the boatshed. Just another perfect day for a walk in the Wilderness. We have been so lucky with the weather.

Lunch stop at Crater Lake. We could have sold a cup of tea for about $20 at this point.

Wombat Pool is a pretty spot. We saw lots of wombat poo here but no wombats. It was only at the end of today’s travels, right back where we started at Ronny Creek, that we spotted one wandering across the hillside with a little one in tow.

Great place to open a tea house or coffee shop.  Not sure it would be as easy to carry the Saeco coffee machine and electric generator.

All so very scenic

Tomorrow we head for the East coast with maybe an overnight stop on the way somewhere near Bothwell. Once at the coast we hope to catch up with the Sam & Glenn for perhaps some more surfing lessons.

  1. Bring on the surf!!! Park beach & Carlton Rivermouth are looking good! Might even trip down to Roaring Beach if swell drops enough! Bream Creek is the most awesome campsite- had Brekkie this morning with the surfer farmer & his wife! Gold!
