Today’s the day we run away. Just us, the cruiser & the van extraordinaire & far too much “stuff” (hopefully it’ll thin out as we go).
Let the journey begin!
Left Newy early, stopped at Long Jetty for about 40 mins to have a pinhole in an airline repaired on one of the Cruiser airbags. Climax suspension did a great job.
We then made a TomTom route directly to Bendalong via Fitzroy Falls. We thought we’d stop to check out the falls but were unable to find a park for the rig so we pushed on. While negotiating the car park at Fitzroy Falls we did, however, encounter our first P Plated Bogan parked in a “No Stopping” zone.
I gently tapped on the horn to let him know we may need a bit more room than he’d left us to get by. His response was to jump out of his lowered Commodore HSSSV (Here’s Something Silly Sucking Viagra) & strut over to my driver’s side window to let me know his pregnant girlfriend had to go to the loo & that he drove trucks for a living & there was plenty of space & he didn’t know what my problem was. Again I pointed to the no stopping sign at which point he waved his hairy hands in the air & got back into his HSSSV.
To his credit he then reversed into a bus zone to give me space to get thru…
So we get back on the road and as expected about 15 minutes later he overtook us & 4 other cars over double yellow lines going down the mountain. We felt very sorry for his girlfriend & their baby to be.
From there we had a fairly clear run & arrived safely at Bendalong to set up the van.
Here’s a shot of Bendalong when we went for a walk to check out the surf. Tomorrow may be worth a paddle.

Great way to start the adventuring …
Leave some waves for us! Should see you mid morning on Sat’dee! I will have two Haasnoots in the car though, so maybe you should get all the waves you can now!!!!
May The Journey continue despite the bogans!
Very jealous guys!!!!!
