Port Hedland to Perth, Perth to Melbourne, Melbourne to Newcastle
Jayne went to her board meetings as did I.
One highlight was standing around in the cold on the first morning with a bunch of mates trying to decide whether to surf, have coffee or go back to bed. The surf was a bit wild that day. I think most took the back to bed option.
Later that day the surf settled down a bit so I managed a surf at Dixon Park.
Next day was a trip to Saltwater. Surf number 2 on a protected Southern point. Lots of fun with Dave & Mick.
3rd surf was out at third reef at Merewether (out in the big boys playground). Lucky, the Merewether day was only 4′-5′ & a lot of fun with about 5 guys out. The day before would have been 6′-8′ and a lot of pain. Gotta be happy with 3 surfs in 3 days. Shame about all the aches & pains that come along with it. More practice required.
Caught up with some of the family. My Mum & Jayne’s Dad.
Even got to spend some quality time with some siblings, nieces & one of my nephews.
One of my nieces is about 2 weeks off transforming into two people. She looks absolutely radiant & says she feels 100% pregnant.
Three days in Newy goes very quickly.
So then, just to be different, we went back to the Wild West via a different route. Newcastle to Brisbane, Brisbane to Perth, Perth to Port Hedland. Another full day of flying up & down.
Happy to report the car & van were still in Port Hedland & in the same state we left them in. Nobody washed either one. Heading South next.
