Back at Marrawah – Ann Bay, Green Point

Coming up to 4 months of wandering about the Southern Isle and we are quickly running out of time on our final leg of the Tassie experience. It looks like we’ll just have to come back again. We have ended up pretty much back where we first camped on the West Coast with less than a week to go.

We are here – Green Pt, Ann Bay near Marrawah

Funnily enough it’s cooler & windier than we remembered. We’ve had a few howler days (68km/hr gusts) and some others not so bad with occasional periods of calm & then absolute gorgeous sunshine.

The swell had backed off a bit & so a search for some abalone produced a bag of 10 healthy specimens. Our newly procured (thrift shop job) tenderiser worked a treat & lunch was delicious.

There’s also been more fish on the barbie with a couple of Blue Grenadier fillets ( caught at Smithton – Woolworths) & some locally procured potatoes ($5 for 5kgs) baked in the barbie as well.

Glenn & Jayne are progressing well in the knitting department with Glenn producing more beanies. Beanie production is inversely proportional to fine weather down here so production is currently booming.

“Kooks  on Tour” continues. Yesterday & today has been a bit of an adventure but not a lot of waves to ride.

On Lighthouse Beach – More closeouts, but a great spot.

Just South of Mt Cameron – Lots of potential

As per usual, getting to these spots is a bit of a mission. This spot involved engaging low range 4WD, a bit of rock hopping & some new scratches down each side of the cruiser from the surrounding flora. Lucky the Cruiser was covered in dirt or the scratches would have been deeper. I’m sure they’ll polish out eventually.

Each month Jayne gets busy reading board papers. It’s about this time she seems to get busy with a whole lot of other (non-related) things that just have to be done as well

“Do Not Disturb” – Board Paper Time

We continue to feel ridiculously lucky to be doing this trip. Maybe it’s got something to do with this little guy who keeps dropping by.

Little Blue Bird of Happiness continues to visit

There are a lot of little fairy wrens about the place currently. I reckon you’d fit about six on a shish kebab if only they didn’t move about so dang quick. Twitchy little devils.

What’s on the table are “bored papers”, what’s on Jayne’s lap is clearly not!
