With the mad Sydney craziness & the big city now far, far away, we have settled back in to wanderer mode. This became immediately obvious the moment we drove out of Hobart airport. No traffic. I guess the rest of the people on the plane were waiting for luggage as it appeared to be just us on the road. A stark contrast to driving out of Sydney airport.

Back at Chain of Lagoons we continued our surfing & fishing pattern.  While we were away Sam & Glenn had lots of good waves.  This is a recurring theme. We did get a couple of fun sessions at Dark Hollow Creek





Jayne is very happy with her new wetsuit & is now looking for every opportunity to get it wet. It seems to improve her surfing as well.

We do a bit of rock hopping from time to time in search of potential dive sites





It only took a day or two before the swell dropped & we moved on.





On our way West we dropped by the Pub in the Paddock.



Off to the right lives Priscilla, a well above average size pig that doesn’t mind a beer or six. Today she was just happy to lay about in her shelter







Later that day we arrived at Cape Portland. The wind farm here has 56 wind turbines producing 3 Megawatts each. Why can’t we do more of this in other parts of Oz?



These things are big. We stopped at the visitor centre to find out a bit more about them.





Each 44m turbine blade was trucked in!

Snake count is now up to 5. A two metre tiger snake greeted us on arrival at The Village Green Camp area at Cape Portland. It was just sunning itself on the grass & quickly slithered off as we clomped about. We later found another smaller 1 metre tiger snake on the path to the loo but it was dead, poor thing. 



Jayne did a bit of research to find out this area is a bit of a tiger snake breeding ground… 

There was no surf to be found here or at nearby Musselroe Bay but both are very pretty spots to camp.

So the search for surf continues. We’re leaving the NE coast & heading back to the NW coast for our final 2 weeks in Tassie. We should end up at Ann Bay near Marrawah in a day or so. This means abalone will be back on the menu. Probably more surfing as well.
