Just leaving Queenstown at about 8am

We free camped at the sports ground. The AFL footy oval is all gravel. They breed em tough down here.
After about a 3 hour drive we have ended up at Mount Field National Park. We plan to stay over the Australia Day Long Weekend & a bit beyond, to make good use of their facilities & do heaps of walks.
We thought we might take a quick 1 hr guided tour that ended up being 2 1/2 hours of wandering about in the wilderness. We love green things.
At night the inside of this stump is all aglow with glow worms. We’ll be back to check on that.
Life grows on everything in the rainforest. The fallen trees are home to more critters & are actually more full of life then when they were standing upright.
The light filtering thru the fronds is just amazing

We must be on the set of Avatar

It just feels like we are wandering thru a wonderland. I guess we are.
Tall Trees Circuit – To Infinity & Beyond

Some of these trees are over 80m tall & seem to go on & on to infinity & beyond. They are absolute Giants.
We’re off kayaking down the Derwent River tomorrow.
